Over two thousand years ago, in the 2nd Century BC, a Greek writer named Antipater decided to list the seven most impressive buildings and works of art in the world at the time. Ever since that day they have been referred to as the Seven Wonders of the World. Apart from the Pyramids all of these monuments have been destroyed through earthquakes or wars. They are still remembered today as the most magnificent monuments that ever existed.
